About this Workshop

Do you find the ups and downs of creative life overwhelming? Do you one minute find yourself rushing around trying to squeeze in as many things as possible and the next wondering what to do with yourself as work comes to an abrupt halt?

Led by yoga, meditation and ayurveda teacher Lucinda Pimlott, Root to Rise is a workshop to help theatre practitioners find tools to help you through the rollercoaster that life can be. In times of uncertainty, we can feel like there is no ground. Lacking stability, we may become indecisive, anxious and lost. When we are overly busy, it can feel like we don’t have time to take care of ourselves. Drawing on Ayurveda, Lucinda will introduce you to simple practices to help bring a sense of structure and grounding that will serve you both when life feels stressful due to overwork and when you have no direction at all.

The workshop will include:

  • a brief introduction to the history and philosophy of Ayurveda

  • how and why a Daily Routine is beneficial

  • presentation of simple practices to include

  • practical exercise planning your own schedule to take home with you

  • recommendations for how to find out more information

These workshops have been made possible by Arts Council England's Emergency Response Fund.

Lucinda Pimlott

After living and working in London for a number of years, Lucinda found that juggling the demands of working in the corporate environment and bringing up a young family only resulted in burn out and depression. 2006 was the turning point, when she decided to take her personal inquiry into how to be healthy and happy into her life’s work, moved her family to Cornwall and retrained as a Yoga Teacher.

With 20 years of experience in Health and Wellbeing, 13 years’ teaching Yoga and Meditation and ongoing studies in Ayurveda, Lucinda is Co-Founder of the Lime House Yoga Foundational Teacher Training Programme and Director of Lucinda Yoga. She runs weekly classes, workshops and retreats in Yoga, Ayurveda, Women’s Wellbeing and Meditation, gives regular talks on Health and Wellbeing and runs annual courses in Yoga Teacher Training.
